What is a Personal Care Home?A form of independent living where seniors get the luxury of living in their own private apartments, but also receive watchful oversight and minimal assistance with daily needs. Residents have the opportunity to receive medication management, laundry services, weekly housekeeping, and assistance with bathing, dressing, toileting. At Cedar Hill, they also receive 3 fabulous meals a day and snacks available all day long. Daily meaningful activities are conducted within COVID guidelines.

How do I know if a Personal Care Home is right?· Is your loved one eating healthy, balanced meals regularly? · Has the food in their refrigerator expired? Pantry? · Problems walking/getting around? Unexplained bruising from possible falls? · Are they wearing fresh clean clothes each time you visit? · Can they bathe themselves? Do their laundry? Cook? · Do they remember to take their meds? Taking them properly? · Can they operate household appliances safely? · Is the home equipped with safety features such as grab bars in the bathroom, emergency response system? · Are they paying their bills in a timely manner? · Do they still engage in hobbies/interests? · Do they look healthy? Vibrant as they used to?

I am a veteran. Are there any programs that can assist me in this transition?Some veterans do qualify for financial assistance. Their local VA office should be able to assist them applying for aide and attendance benefits.

Does long-term care insurance cover any of the cost?Most long-term care insurances will cover some of the costs of living in a personal care home.

May I bring my own furnishings to my new apartment?All residents must bring their own furniture. Each room rented is like renting an empty apartment. Residents must furnish the apartment. (Dresser, TV, bed, chair with arms, bed linens, towels & washcloths, curtains, shower curtain, toiletries, bed side table, lamp, pictures, etc.)

May I bring my pet with me?We are a pet friendly community but do have strict pet policy. Residents must be able to fully care for their pet.

What if I have a medical emergency?Our staff conducts round checks on all residents 24/7. Our memory care unit receives more frequent round checks. We have a secured unit for memory care. We have emergency call buttons in the personal care rooms.

Does Cedar Hill provide short-term care?Yes. We have a respite room that is available upon reservation. Interested parties must call to inquire about availability. The room is furnished.

What are the visiting hours?8:00 a.m- 9:00 p.m.

What kind of events and activities are offered?We offer a wide variety of activites including: Bingo, Bible Study, Trivia, Word Search Puzzles, Sing A Longs, Cornhole, Crafts, holiday gatherings, fun food fellowships, outdoor walks, movies, etc.

Is transportation provided?No

Are utilities included?Yes, except for a land line phone. IF the resident chooses to have a land line, the family must set this up with the local phone company.

May guests join me for a meal?Absolutely. Residents just need to provide 24 hour advance notice.

Is smoking allowed?Smoking is not allowed at Cedar Hill.

Is there a beauty salon or barbershop on site?Yes
